This article explains how to adjust the monthly budget or forecast for room-related metrics directly from the live forecast module using the Revise forecast/budget tool.

Overview

The Revise forecast/budget tool allows you to update the monthly forecast or budgets values without navigating to the Budget & forecast module. Changes apply only to the month currently displayed in live forecast.

You can revise room nights, revenue input, and the guest factor basis. Guest nights are recalculated automatically based on your selections.

Note: This option will only be available if budget or forecast is open for the selected period in Period locking.

Who gets it?

This feature is available for users with edit access to the Rooms budget & forecast.

What you can update

In rooms forecasting, you can revise the following forecast or budget values for the selected month:

Room nights

• Enter the updated monthly room night value.
• PMI will recalculate dependent values automatically.

Average room revenue or revenue

Depending on your display settings, you can update either:

• Average revenue, or
• Revenue

PMI adjusts related metrics accordingly.

Guest factor based on:

Choose which guest factor PMI should use to calculate guest nights:

• Period
  • Based only on seasons in Edit guest night factor (manual exceptions not included).
• Live forecast
  • Based on a monthly calculated ratio: live forecast guest nights ÷ room nights.

Guest nights update automatically when you change room nights or switch the guest factor basis.

For all non-rooms departments, you can revise the monthly revenue forecast or budget.

If the department uses covers, these values can also be updated.

How changes are applied

Once values are updated:

1. PMI recalculates guest nights for the selected month.
2. You can review the updated numbers immediately.
3. Click OK to confirm and apply the revised forecast or budget.

Changes apply only to the selected month in live forecast.

Important information

• Guest nights cannot be edited manually.
• All guest night calculations follow the same logic used in Edit guest night factor.
• Changing room nights will always trigger a recalculation of guest nights.
